Science has been a very important topic for humanity during thousands of years, even in the smallest details of our lives. For example: technology requires a lot of science to create functional devices, such as the cell phone, but most of the people think that science is just a set of contents like biology, physics or maths.
In fact those contents are very important in science, without them maybe we couldn't have found a way yo cure sick people, create spaceships, or even have a more specific knowledge about certain things in the Universe, but that is not all what science is about.
Linguitics, for instance, is another science area but people don't look at the study of language as science. If we consider that the most clear definition of science takes into account an object of observation, and the fact that linguistics is the observation of the use of a language, we should think over and set down the language as one of the most important discoverys of science.
In Conclusion, considering the starting point (first paragraph), we could say that we don't know much about science as we thought. Therefore, as the teachers we are, we should learn and read more about the wide amount of information that science provides and use it not just for the knowledge but to apply it in our everyday's live, in our classrooms and to build a world out of brainless people caring about the superficial aspects of life.
